He blinked his emerald eyes up the blonde that had suddenly appeared from no where. A small frown formed on his face. He pushed the metal cart as he spoke, “Where did you go?!” he exclaimed, completely ignoring Alfred’s question. Arthur already saw a woman staring at the two like they were animals fighting in cages. He sighed, then sopke again in a hushed voice. “Don’t do that again…” he grumbled, grabbing the demon’s arm and squeezing it. For a moment he actually became worried over the other.

Arthur felt the arm in his hold twitch lightly, Alfred obviously becoming irritated in the crowd. His eyes glanced down to the bags that the demon held in his clawed hands. “Have you payed for those?” inquired the Briton as he nodded to the clerk. He placed the items on the register, pulling out his wallet once again. The male scanned the multiple canned foods and vegetables horribly slow.

The clerk spoke, saying, “How has your day been?” and “That’s a nice jacket.” The regular, irking, small talk. Arthur only scowled and grunted in response to the irritable questions. He glanced to the two bags that were now filled with his groceries. The clerk spoke once again, saying the total amount. The mage pulled out the money, giving it to the clerk. He waved him good bye, not bothering to take the small amount of change left over as he grabbed his own bags. Wanting to get out of this store.

Alfred felt the hand wrap around his arm and grinned lightly. “Nah… guess I gotta pay for stuff…” He muttered lightly. The look on Arthur’s face was telling him on one hand, that he was pissed, but the other was telling him that he almost looked concerned that the blond had been out of his sight. It was pretty adorable.

He watched the mage as he payed for his things and mimicked the other, hearing the man talk to him, but not really replying, simply staring as the food was scanned. He never understood why all this technology had to come into play with trading goods. Whatever the case, it was still slightly interesting to him.

The amount of things he bought was less than Arthur, therefore it was bagged faster, and he had followed after Arthur quickly, snaking his hand into his mate’s poket and dropping the extra change he had forgotten in his pocket. “You should save money.” His grin grew lightly.

“Oh, I was looking for stuff, then you were gone- you’re lucky I can still find you with all these people around.” The demon leaned down to Arthur’s level. “Why? Were you scared for me?” He snickered lightly as he teased his mate.

With an eye roll, Arthur took a few steps ahead. Of course Alfred hadn’t paid for his groceries. He stood by the exit, waiting for his mate as the clerk checked him out. Alfred was just as stiff and unsocial to these mortals as he was, he seemed more interested in the machines they used to scan the products it seemed. It made the Briton grin lightly.

Once he saw the demon pacing over to him Arthur turned on his heels, and began to walk out of the automatic doors. He felt a tug on his coat as he stepped outside. He blinked his emerald eyes up to the demon who grinned at him with a hunch to be the same height as the mage, and dropped the extra change into his coat pocket. He rolled his eyes, making use of his free hand and playfully shoving the demon’s face up from his height. “Oh yes, thanks,” he drawled with a light smile. “And no, I wasn’t,” he lied easily as he passed by the many cameras and humans now entering.

He continued out of the entrance to Lucky’s; he could still feel the camera’s glass eyes on his back. He probably hated that most about stores. Arthur reached into his pocket and grabbed the change, managing to get it into his wallet with his one hand. “We’ll be going to the book store now.” The petite blonde said. He is more accustomed to the public library but Alfred wanted to buy a book, but that’s as fine.

Alfred grinned and laughed as the mage pushed him back upwards to his actual height. He obeyed and stood up again, still hauling his bag over his shoulder with his right hand. His ears twitched at the sudden noise of the whooshing doors and then the crowded outside.

The demon looked up to the sky, noting the sun being snuffed out by clouds today. His blue eyes flicked back to the ground where he normally stared. “Probably gonna rain soon.” He stated, following in step after his mate. He was happy that they were going to get books now. That interested him more than food did- which was saying something.

The crowds were swarming again. They seemed almost to have gotten thicker if that was at all possible. There were large loud vehicles ambling around with mortals inside. They smelled like baking tires, and were an eyesore to the demon. One particularly large car with an agitated mortal inside who wasn’t really looking where he was going- Alfred only noticed when the car stopped right beside him. The front of the car seemed to huff out hot air like a bull.

“Watch where you’re goin! Freaking weirdo!” He stared at the man with a raised brow. Was he hard to see? The demon silently mused what would have happened had the car run him over. He could just lift it off and walk off like nothing happened. Slowly, he put his hand upon the hot machine, a sweet smile on his face- sickly sweet. “Sorry.” His voice was dripping with murderous intent. The man huffed and moved back into his car. As he did and Al moved to continue following his mate, the demon clenched his hand around the muffler, the result bending the metal into a small ball.

To be honest, he wasn’t sure if anyone noticed, including the driver. But it was so easily done that anyone who even thought ‘did he just bend that metal?’ would shake their heads at the crazy though. Alfred snickered and stalked after Arthur.
