|Drabble| I’m a Sinner, not a Saint (2)

The second sin he committed was the sin of Wrath.

Wrath can be defined as anger caused by many things, one of these being revenge. This sin is described as one to cause harm to others or oneself. This sin is often associated with another. In his case, it muddled with his jealousy.

Punishment for this sin is being dismembered as the one committing the sin would want to do in their anger.

He remembered standing behind the perfect boy, simply staring at his back. Why wasn’t he turning around? The boy glowered. Oh yeah, because he didn’t know he existed. Why would the perfect child dirty his eyes with the sight of his hideous shadow?

Normally those thoughts would dim as night washed over him. But lately, it did not. The sun-child lay upon the hay that made up the makeshift bed, and still, the demon did not leave his side. His hand twitched and curled in irregular mannerisms. He watched every breath, every small twitch, every motion the child made before him.

His hand seemed to move on it’s own. His eyes flashed red like suddenly like he was splashed with blood, blinding his eyes. He wanted to feel that- he wanted to feel blood under his fingers suddenly. He wanted to hear the sun-child scream. The blood rushed through his veins as he slammed his fist down.

It did not connect. It just went through his body. He was only a soul- part of the sun-child’s soul. In being a part of a soul, he didn’t have a physical body to harm the boy with. Complicated, yes, but that just made him more frustrated.

He continued to throw his fists down, connecting with the hay and ground again and again. His knuckles split open and blood ran down his fingers, pain seeping into his mind as the red began to dull from his vision. As the sun began to replace the moon, he lay back in exhaustion. His knuckles pounded in agony as the angry tears dried on the side of his face.

His anger not soothed.
